In 1513 Encina had Performed his 'Egloga de Pla'cida y Victoriano' which consisted of 'dramatic sketches' enlivened by musical sung interludes and finals composed by the author. What was notable was the innovative use of 'Comic Peasant Speech' for both the songs and some of the 'Comic Turns'.There were those at the time who felt that Encina had 'gone too far'. When Ralph and the Holborn Rovers released their pre Gang Show 1930 Campfire 'sing song' there were those in the Movement who thought that the 'Cockney Voices' of some of the Boy Scouts were 'not quite the thing...' However what the 'brass hats' at H.Q didn't know was that Encina's original 16th Century conception was contained in one of the Catches (Rounds) found on the Recording and that concept of 'Trouble with Gang Show' had already jumped four hundred and seventeen years and Gang Show Proper had not even started yet...!!
