Shot by Clansman Films over a three month period this remarkable record of the progress from the initial stages to the actual Production was filmed and recorded by the Ad Hoc Collective of amateur Film Makers started by Ron Miller following the inspiration of Cinema Manager Jimmy Nairn.Clansman Films operated for a twenty year from 1962 to 1982 and this Record of the 1967 Aberdeen Gang Show is one of their most distinguished films winning awards in 1968.Although the actual Film lasts for less than than thirty minutes by use of cleaver editing the gradual progress of individual pieces is clearly demonstrated. The four items in the Gang Show that are focused on are Hayride,Infants Three,Boys in Blue and Chinese Legand. One of the great joys of the Film is to see the Shows Producer Kennedy Thompson rehearsing large set pieces involving numbers of boy scouts as well as working with three Rover Scouts who Perform 'Infants Three'.The Production Sequences are shot in Black and White and the actual Production pieces are shot in Colour. This was following Andersons practice with his experimential film 'The White Bus' and was put to great use in his masterpiece ' If '.The final of the Film shows the cast on a revolving Stage Set on several levals.Hasterly put together whilst four boy scouts sing 'Four Little Fellas'.The fact that this flimsy structure holds up while the kilted Cast sing the final with words by Kennedy and music by the Musical Director Reith.Dr.Stu..
