Would members of the Forum be interested in meeting in Central London Euston or Kings Cross on a Saturday later in the year to visit some of the sites associated with some of the early London Gang Shows 1930's and 1950's particularly. The area I am thinking of is Holborn which is just across the Euston Road. There is the New British Library where I have discovered some fantastic Gang Show material over the Years known and unknown to me.The Wellcome Institute for the History of Medicine which again has interesting materials relating to Scouting health and Gang Shows. The Central London YMCA where the Holborn Rover Crew met and St.Georges Hall were all the pre 1932 'Boy Scout Shows' were performed 1928,1929,1930 and 1931.The Scala Theatre etc.We could end up at St.Clement Danes the RAF Church with it's Ralph Reader links. Its not vast area and it covers a part of london most visitors miss.I would be very happy to organise it if members were interested ? Dr.Stu.
