The 'Electric' 20's were becoming even more 'Flapperish' in that the quest for new entertainments and diversions were bringing forth a greater range of ideas and Productions.Part of this 'new wave' was the 'Stock Exchange Dramatic and Operatic Society' founded in London in 1906.In April 1927 the Society introduced it's friends and supporters in London to an entirely 'novel' Show called 'The Cat's Whiskers'.Billed as 'An Original Musical Show'.There were twenty two items in the Programme each was called a 'Whisker'.Whats of interest is just how many preconceive the items found in the early 'Rover Scout and Boy Scout Revues' The Script and Music was Original and 'this splended entertainment' was the hit of the 1927 Season at the 'New Scala Theatre'.The Management were on the 'look out' for a 'Similar Sizzler' that would 'bring in the money set'.Bloomsbury with it's 'Set' just on the 'Door Step' and 'The YMCA' with a 'bunch of Rover Scouts just waiting to 'tread the boards'.Dr.Stu..
