The First Fortnightly Part of B.P's 'Scouting for Boys' (1908) contained B.P's Play 'Pocahantos' complete with details of "her" Costume,Headress,Earings,Necklace,Skirt with a "Coloured Short Petticoat under it" and bare feet.This took twelve pages and was later Published as a single Scout Play.From 1914 Boy scouts in Liverpool Produced a Yearly Elizabethan Play complete with music and costumes.The boys singing and the "girls" dancing was recognised in Reveiws in the 'Evening Express' and 'The Drama Journal'.Rover Scouts won awards for their Acting in the 1920's and in 1927 'The Easter School for Amateur Producers' was held at Kings College Campden Hill in Kensington from the 19th to the 27th as an Evening Class.The Fee for the Total Course was £1:1s payable in advance.There were a number of Rover Scouts and Scouters who took part.The July 1927 edition of 'Drama' shows for the first time that the 'Boy Scout Association' had importantly become an 'affilliated Society' of 'The Dritish Drama League'.In January 1928 Boy Scouts in Aberdeen Organised a Drama Festival (certainly post R.Burns and pre T.Burns).In February 1928 'Drama' contained an Article on 'The N****R Minstrel' which played a most influencial part in the future of Boy Scout Troop entertainment including the Gang Show.In May 1929 The New Scala Theatre Staged the Banned Play 'The Shanghai Gesture' on a Sunday Evening "A number of Rover Scouts attended......" and in June 1929 a number of Boy scout Troops Staged Pageants where "The Boy Scouts dancing as Snow Drops Melted many an Englishmens Heart.....".I just bet it did !!
