For heaven's sake, please tell a new user how to use this site. I have spent about 40 minutes trying to get into it and then can't find my way around. At last I've found this empty space, but I still can't find any index or list of topics or anything to indicate anything remotely interesting.

What is the problem you are having if you log in to the site and scroll down there is a list of topics these are only available to members.
