Hi, I,m John and was introduced to this forum by Dr Stu.

I'm the stage manager and designer for Flying High, the Derby East Scout & Guide Gangshow and have also written a few sketches over the years.

I started out in 1978 helping with props then went onto the scenery side of things. In 1988 I was asked to take over the stage manager role. In 1990 I was instrumental in taking the show from the local school hall to the Derby Playhouse. In 2000, due to Derby Playhouse politics we had to move to the Derby Assembly Rooms which has a massive seating capacity but not much stage wing space.

It is possible that we may be able to move back to the Playhouse but whether that will be in timew for our next show in 2010 I don't know.

When I'm not doing things for Flying High my other role in Scouting is Chairman of the Derby East Fellowship and a District Executive member.
