Although 'The Sketch' had made it crystal clear just who the 'Holborn Rover' was in their Wednesday October 18 1933 edition, The Programme for the 1934 'Gang Show' as it had become known, still continued the 'Holborn Rover' Charade. The Times Newspaper in a very serious Reveiw/Study of The Show on the 15 October 1934 hoped that Theatre Managers might perhaps engage this 'Holborn Rover' as a Producer as he seemed to know his job so well !! Ralphs Book "Good Turns for Scout Shows" had been doing the rounds in Scouting Circles since 1932.Most of the Material was infact from the 1932 'Show'.The Joke being that the actual Scripts were by 'A Holborn Rover' but this section of the text was prefaced by 'Production Notes' by Ralph Reader (The Well Known London Producer). As Ralph was better known to Rover Scouts at the time the joke to many in the Boy Scout Movement may have been lost. The Book contained A Forward by Fred Hurll who was Ralphs Stage Director. In The Forward to the Book he establishes this false duality of Authorship. The 1934 Show also received a fine Photo retrospective on Wednesday 24 October in 'The Sketch' which was the date of the Extra Show held at the Scala Theatre to provide money towards The Lord Mayor of Londons Fund for 'The Gresford Colliery Disaster Relief Fund'.This also gave 'The Sketchs' 'Arty' and 'Aristocratic' Readers another chance to see this "Darling of a Show".Dr.Stu..
