In the 1950's and 1960's when Gang Show was still an all Boy Scout Revue the most popular authors after Ralph for Boy Scout Troop Shows and Boy Scout Gang Shows were Frank Wilcock and Robert Rutherford.Wilcock & Rutherford had started their writing careers in the 1930's,about the same time as Ralph,Writing pieces for the likes of Arthur Askey. It was however in the early 1950's and 1960's that they established their own Company from a number of addresses in Cockfosters in Barnet Hertfordshire. It was from these addresses that they sent out to Boy Scout Troops copies of their Scripts for Boy Scout Troop Shows and Gang Shows.Wilcock and Rutherford were at their most creative with the use of "Gang Show Girls",which is why their scripts were so popular. There was little that their "girls" were not expected to do endure !! If they were part of their "Girls Choir" Boy Scouts could expect to lose their "little girl wigs" and their "girls knickers" as well as having their "girly bottoms" squirted with water pistols by other "choir girls" when the solo 'Water,Water,Water' was sung. It's clear from the amount of correspondance from Gang Show Producers that this piece as well as many others were the hits of their respective Boy Scout Troop Shows. What was remarkable was that the Wilcock & Rutherford catalogue contained no more than twenty pieces during this twenty year period.Their 'Wedding Group' which started with a 'Horrid Tablue' when the curtains opened. This was enough to 'bring the house down' (1954 Troop File)'before a note was played'.Other all drag pieces such as 'Only Girls Left in the Ballet' provided whitty lyrics to burlesque Ballerina Action.Their most popular piece after 'Girls Choir' was the 'The Gym Girls' which provided "Gang Show Schoolgirls" a chance not only to let "Their Hair Down" but most of "Their Schoolgirl Gym kit" as well as they demonstrated "Their lack of ability not only to perform action instructed by the "Gym Mistress",but "their wigs, gym skirts and gym knickers".In the 1970's Wilcock & Rutherford had Published two further collections of pieces. These were more sanitised and looked forward to the form of many modern day Gang Shows where there is to quote Gang Show Producers of the past little to "Create the usual Riot" Dr.Stu..
